Uni is cool and does take more balance for sure, but I am not so sure about speed and strength. Those things weigh less than the triple crown fork (Fox 40) on my IH Sunday. Plus, you can't go nearly as fast, which is part of the exhilaration of mountain biking. On a DH bike, you can wip down hills at break neck speeds, whereas you can't on a Uni because you would be pedaling your ass off. There is no arguing that one is better than the other or more "manly" than the other. They are different and both "manly", but in different regards. The thrill on unis is showing off your crazy balance skills to the world. On mountain bikes (I can't speak for BMX cuz I don't do it), the thrill is going fast and jumping (I mean off jumps, not this "jumping" on Unis that is more like bike 'trials' stuff).
