Apple can't do anything about it. Just because you *can* install osx on it, doesnt mean they support it/provide it/encourage it. Hell, if thats true, than ANY computer maker and off the wall parts store can be sued, since they all make parts that *could* be used.

When Ubuntu has branded monitors, phones, mp3 players, laptops, desktops, etc. PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING TANGIBLE we can talk. They're going to have a busy two years if they think this is even remotely possible.
Hmmm...talking of chucking the optical drive, eh? I'm not sure I like that idea, but here is an idea I would LOVE to see. Instead of an optical drive, put in a universal bay. In the bay, you could swap out optical drives, hard drives, ipod docks, or even a second battery. Just tailor it for your needs of the day. If you want a cheap bare-bones machine, leave it empty. THAT, would be flexible.
